Terms and conditions
This document describes the terms of purchase in the SmartKidZone web shop. Please read it before placing an order — by ordering you accept these terms.
Effective from: August 3, 2026
1. Scope
These terms and conditions apply to sales contracts concluded in the operator's web shop, and govern the rights and obligations of the buyer and the operator.
Matters not covered here are governed by Hungarian law, in particular the Civil Code and Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.) on the detailed rules of contracts between consumers and businesses.
The operator reserves the right to amend these terms. An amendment takes effect upon publication and does not apply to orders already placed: those are governed by the text in force at the time of the order.
2. Products on offer
The web shop sells screen-free educational games for children. Photographs on the product pages are illustrations; the actual appearance of the product may differ slightly.
Prices are shown in Hungarian forints and include value added tax. Prices do not include the shipping fee or the cash-on-delivery surcharge — those are shown separately at checkout, before the order is finalised.
If, despite all care taken by the operator, an incorrect price appears in the web shop, the operator is not obliged to fulfil the order at that price: the buyer will be notified without delay and offered fulfilment at the correct price, which the buyer may decline.
3. Product ratings
The star rating and the number of ratings shown on the product pages and on the home page do not come from SmartKidZone customers: they are taken from the ratings published by the manufacturer, GiiKER, in its own web shop (https://www.giiker.com), together with the rest of the manufacturer's product data.
The operator does not verify — and is not in a position to verify — whether these ratings are genuine: they are not collected by the operator, and the operator has no information on whether the reviewer bought or used the product. The ratings are provided for information only and do not constitute a warranty given by the operator.
The manufacturer's data is refreshed regularly, but the values on the GiiKER site may change in the meantime. It is currently not possible to submit a rating in the operator's web shop.
4. How to order
Registration is not required; orders may be placed as a guest. Quantities in the cart can be changed until the order is finalised.
At checkout the buyer provides the shipping and — if different — the billing details, selects the shipping and payment method, then places the order with the „Place order" button. Pressing that button constitutes an order with an obligation to pay.
The buyer may correct the entered data at any time before submitting: the checkout fields remain editable until the order is sent.
5. Conclusion of the contract
The operator confirms receipt of the order by email without delay. This confirmation constitutes acceptance of the order, and the contract between the parties is concluded with it.
If the confirmation does not arrive within 48 hours of sending the order, the buyer is released from the offer.
The contract is concluded in Hungarian, does not qualify as a written contract, is not filed by the operator and is not accessible afterwards. The details of a placed order can be reviewed on the order page and, for registered buyers, in the account.
6. Payment
The buyer may pay by bank card, bank transfer in advance, or cash on delivery. Payment by bank transfer is currently available on the Hungarian-language version of the shop.
Online card payments and other payment methods are processed through the Barion system. Card details and other payment data never reach the merchant. The service provider, Barion Payment Zrt., is an institution supervised by the National Bank of Hungary, licence number: H-EN-I-1064/2013.
With cash on delivery the buyer pays the courier or the pickup point on receipt. The cash-on-delivery surcharge covers the cost of cash handling and is shown separately at checkout.
A card order is considered paid when the payment provider confirms a successful transaction. If payment does not arrive, the order is cancelled automatically after one hour and the reserved stock is released.
For payment by bank transfer in advance, the operator emails the transfer details when the order is placed: the account number, the amount, and the reference, which is always the order number. The order is considered paid once the amount is credited to the operator's bank account; packing and invoicing start from that day. If the amount does not arrive within 5 calendar days of the order, the order is cancelled and the reserved stock is released.
7. Shipping and receipt
At checkout the customer may choose parcel locker, pickup point or home delivery — depending on the destination country, from Foxpost parcel locker, PostaPont pickup point, Posta parcel locker, Hungarian Post home delivery and GLS home delivery.
Shipping methods and fees appear at checkout once the delivery address is entered. The fee depends on the destination country and the chosen method, and is free above a defined cart value.
The operator dispatches the parcel within 2 working days of confirming the order — for card payments, of receiving the payment. Delivery time then depends on the carrier's undertaking.
On receipt, we recommend checking that the parcel is intact. If it is damaged, please have the courier record a report and do not accept the parcel — carriers do not accept later complaints without such a report.
8. Right of withdrawal
A buyer qualifying as a consumer may withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving reasons. The period starts on the day the buyer or a third party designated by the buyer receives the product; in the case of several items, on the day the last item is received.
The right of withdrawal may be exercised by an unambiguous statement sent to the operator's email address. Withdrawal is deemed to be exercised in time if the statement is sent by the end of the 14th day.
In the event of withdrawal the buyer must return the product without delay, and no later than 14 days from communicating the withdrawal. The direct cost of return is borne by the buyer.
The operator refunds the full amount paid by the buyer, including the cost of delivery, no later than 14 days from learning of the withdrawal. The operator may withhold the refund until the product has been returned or the buyer has proven that it was sent back.
The buyer is liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the product.
9. Warranty and guarantee
Warranty for defects: in the event of defective performance by the operator, the buyer may assert a warranty claim. At the buyer's choice this may be repair or replacement or — in the cases set out by law — a price reduction or withdrawal from the contract.
The buyer must report the defect without delay after discovering it. A defect reported within two months of discovery is deemed to have been reported without delay. Warranty rights may no longer be asserted more than two years after performance of the contract.
Product warranty: in the event of a defective product the buyer may also request repair or replacement directly from the manufacturer. This claim may be asserted within two years of the product being placed on the market.
Guarantee: for products covered by the legislation on mandatory guarantees for certain durable consumer goods, the operator provides a guarantee for the period set out by law.
10. Complaints and legal remedies
Complaints about a product or the operator's activity may be sent to the operator's email address. Written complaints are answered in writing within 30 days.
If the buyer disagrees with the handling of the complaint, the following forums are available:
- the consumer protection authority of the district office competent for the buyer's place of residence,
- the conciliation board competent for the buyer's place of residence, which settles consumer disputes out of court,
- the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform (ODR) for cross-border consumer disputes,
- the courts, under the rules of civil procedure.
11. Data processing
The operator processes the buyer's personal data for the purposes of fulfilling the order, invoicing and keeping in contact. The detailed rules, legal bases and data subject rights are set out in the privacy policy.
12. Miscellaneous
Technical information about the operation of the web shop can be requested at the contact details above.
The operator is not liable for outages or unavailability arising from causes beyond its control, nor for damage arising from software running on the buyer's device or from incorrect data supplied by the buyer.
